Our Fragrances
Illumens consists of 14 fragrances, some of which will be familiar to our devotees, many have been newly created, but all carry the Caroline Hardy signature. All are available as candles, aromatic spills or roomsprays.
NEW
NEROLI AND POMEGRANITE
This fragrance has delectable gourmande notes of pomegranate and plum, raisin and wine, but the top notes of neroli and just a touch of citrus mean the fragrance is rich without being cloying and also has a ephemeral delicacy. Perfect for absolutely any room in the house.
VETIVER
This is a true vetiver, and was based on the fragrance first experienced in a hotel in Jaipur we stayed in many years ago. The blinds in the huge bedrooms were made from woven vetiver grass, and when they got slightly damp with rain or dew the smell was just like this.
OTHER SIGNATURE FRAGRANCES
FLORIBUNDA ROSE
I have always loved roses, and this fragrance and this is a very sophisticated one. If you think of a full blown tea rose with a dry hint of geranium leaf then you have it.
BLUEBELL
This is one of our all time bestsellers, and rightly so. Quintessentially English, this fragrance will transport you to the very depths of a bluebell wood.
FIG AND GINGER
With the warm soft fragrance of fig, combining with wonderful lemony gingery notes, this is rapidly becoming a signature fragrance for us.
NUTMEG AND CINNAMON
This is a very popular fragrance at Christmas but with hints of wine, cinnamon, orange, and nutmeg it is perfect for the kitchen at anytime of year.
ORMAN
A fresh and ozonic fragrance which reminds me of brown, fragrant salt kissed skin but perhaps that's just me.
LEMON VERBENA
Sweet and thick, this rich fragrance is reminiscent of lemon blossom with hints of lemon curd and cream.
WHITE CURRANT
This is a light, fresh and clean floral. With touches of lily, tuberose and grape, this is how I would like all my linen to smell.
CASSIS AND VANILLA
This is a hedonists dream, and is one of our very best sellers. It is rich, heady and luxurious. You can detect chocolate, blackcurrant, cassis and vanilla.
DOMUS
Domus is a robust blend of sandalwood and other rich heady aromas, reminiscent of wood-smoke fires. Perfect for a gentleman's office.
CLEMENTINE
Unashamedly orangey but this is a fragrance without any sharpness or acidity. Imagine a terracotta dish of warm honeyed orange segments.
SWEET LAVENDER
Sweet but dry with a notes of sage and dry earth. I am not usually a fan of lavender, but this one has a sophistication often lacking in Lavender fragrances.
FRANGIPANI
This is just delightful! It has top notes of the frangipani flower, jasmine and neroli, with a richer tuberose heart. I know I am biased, but It is truly sublime
