Uses of Empty Candle Jars
The luxury should never end once your candle has burned! Did you know that you can still use the empty candle jar for a number of things around the house? Don’t throw them out straight away and waste them, reuse and recycle them.
First of all, you will need to remove the remnants of the wax from the jar. Some of the techniques you can use are:
Fill a container with boiling water and let the jar sit in it for a few minutes; the remaining wax will soften and melt which can then be safely poured away.
Remove as much of the wax remnants with a spoon or a knife, then fill the empty candle vessel with hot water and soap. Leave it for a few minutes then scrub and rinse.
After preparing the jars, here are some ideas of what you could transform them into:
Carry on your love of candles, and use your empty candle jar as a tealight holder. It may already have a pretty pattern on it, or you could get creative and draw your own design onto it instead – have fun!
Add a little bit of magic around your home with fairy lights, but instead of hanging them around shelves and windows, place them in your candle jars and dot them around your garden.
A quirky alternative to a vase, your empty candle vessels can become home to some small wild flowers and pretty botanicals. They can also be filled with soil so some plants can be brought inside too!
Tidy up your desk with a handy little pen pot for all of your stationary or, if you are a budding artist, our candle vessels are perfect for storing your paintbrushes.
Vanity Accessories Holder
As well as stationary, empty candle jars are perfect for storing makeup accessories like brushes, eyeliners and pencils, and other cosmetic products such as cotton wool pads and buds, hair bands and slides.
These are only a few possibilities of what you can reuse your empty candle jars for, so have a play around and add charming touches to your home; always remember to recycle if you aren’t going to reuse them!
