Did you receive some of our luxurious scented candles for Christmas? Don’t hesitate to start enjoying the beautiful fragrance, but follow these simple tips so you can make the scent last longer.
First of all, make sure that you keep your candle alight between 1 – 4 hours the first time you burn it, or until the top layer of the candle becomes an even pool of liquid wax. This reduces the risk of tunnelling, giving you more time to enjoy your scent.
Trim your wick after every burn to ¼ of an inch long and ensure you re-centre it after putting your candle out; this will make sure that it lights easily and won’t form any soot stains. Also, don’t place your scented candle where there is a direct flow of air as this can make it burn unevenly.
Avoid burning your candles for more than 4 hours and leave 24 hours between each time that you light it, as this will extend the life of your candle. Leaving them alight for a long period of time can cause carbon deposits on the wick, consequently creating smoke.
Remove the dust and the soot stains around your scented candle in order to enhance your fragrances. The smell of burning and smoke can overpower your scents, so by cleaning your candle using nylon tights or warm water, you can eliminate this and make your scent last longer.
By taking these tips into consideration, you can make the most out of your scented candle and enjoy your favourite fragrance for longer.
